Help Amani’s family survive the devastation of Gaza

Hello world, my name is Gretchen and I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends Tawfiq and Amani Dawoud and their two adorable kids (Lubna 6 and Alaa 3). Before their entire city was turned to rubble, Amani owned a shop and Tawfiq practiced as a human rights lawyer.
This family has been through so much devastation, losing entire families of their relatives. For nearly a year and a half, this family was displaced all over Gaza. Tawfiq and Alaa once were caught in a bombardment and had to be pulled from the rubble, Their family never wanted to leave Gaza, but after escaping death so many times, they decided they would escape if they could. They wanted their kids to have a future.
Through a series of small miracles, enough funds were raised to evactuate Tawfiq and his wife and children to Egypt. More than even being buried in rubble, leaving their family behind devastated them. Their elderly parents, siblings, nieces and nephews who are all facing a famine and never ending violence.
The funds raised in this campaign will be to assist in keeping Tawfiq’s family housed and fed while they are essentially stateless refugees in Egypt. They are not allowed to work there, but they also have no home to return to at this time. They also dream of being able to evacuate more family members if they could raise enough funds.
Lubna was in kindergarten when she was first displaced, and she loved school very much. It has been nearly two years since Lubna was able to step foot in a classroom. As she is not a citizen of Egypt, she cannot attend their public schools. Part of the fundraising goal is to raise the $500 needed for a year of schooling for Lubna at a private school. Her childhood has been stolen, and the family is desperate to make sure she gets a chance at a bright future.
The family and myself send our heartfelt thanks to anyone who has helped them get this far. This is not a sprint, but a marathon of solidarity. We have to stand with then until, just until. Please don’t stop talking about Palestine.
